coolant gone, dunno where it go

i have a problem.. last week i'd just finished draining my coolant from the radiator, and i fill it up back with water. now the problem is every morning my coolant level was low in the radiator, theres no leak underneath the car, the oil seems fine (not milky).
but i just don't get it, wheres all the coolant go??
btw how many gallons of coolant+water can a camaro z28 take??

any info will be so much appreciated

I'd say first off the best bet would be to replace the radiator cap. If this is going then you could be overflowing into the overflow container, and leaking out the top. Do you smell coolant at all?

You could have had some air pockets in the system.....fill it ,bleed it and keep checking it.

my radiator had a hole in it and it would only leak when the car was running. It was a very small hole and even if the coolant was above the hole it wouldn't leak. The only way i noticed it was i fired up the car and watched it start peeing a stream out the hole.

I would check and double check the engine to make sure there is no sign of coolant leaking, its got to be going somewhere. The other guys gave good clues, hopefully its not like the car I'm fixing right now the engine was sucking coolant but no smell, no sign of it in the oil, then one day, boom headgasket blown, now I know it was going into the engine. Usually there is even signs of white in the combustion chamber, but I didn't have that either. when my waterpump went, it was mysteriously sucking coolant, well after a close examination I noticed the weephole on the pump was dripping coolant, just enough where it stayed on the engine but never leaked on the ground.

Good idea here.

Is the car smoking at all? Or does the exhuast smell different?

Check the tranny, maybe the tranny cooler is letting coolant from the radiator into it. Mine did that once but the other way around. My anti-freeze was red on top from ATF getting in the radiator.

Rad Leak

I just went thru this. The Rad has plastic end's. I had a pin hole leak. It took me a month to find it. If your not see it the oil that's prob the problem. Let the engine run till it get's to normal operating temp. Shut it off and look for steam. Make sure you check under the car also. If you have to replace the plastic end most Rad shops will do it for 90.00 a side.

i'm replacing mine on monday...it has a small leak, and since the water's under pressure, it's not really water...when it escapes, it's gas, so, it's not really taking a leak.

i've had lots of heating problems, and in the end, the problem was simple...two hoses were switched...
