Coolant dirty!
Coolant dirty!
Well my coolant is dirty and I have to flush everything out. Well I've searched the threads and kind of gotten input on directions of flushing and changing coolant. But my question is because I've never done this, I've done other things to vehicles though,- Is flushing the system difficult and is it worth spending the 60 or 7O dollars at Valvoline or Jiffy lube to flush the system? Any thoughts?
I got bored and put together a picture on bleeding the system

What everyone else said. Bawls, great bleeding diagram. The advantages to doing it yourself:
You got a new Manual
You appreciate your car more
You learn something new
You save some money
The job is done right!
Trust me, those Jiffy lube places are all ----. I've had friends who worked there and nothing is done right. You will do a much better and complete job than they will. Just pull some hoses and start flushing. Wanna know how they change diff fluid? -- Pump in new till old comes out. Oil change? sometimes no new filter (Filter is too hot to pull.) Then they sell you stuff you don't need. My friend's manager wanted him to sell this girl a "new" air filter when she had a K&N. Thought she wouldn't know better. Maybe there's just a few bad apples, but I've been jaded. Besides it's fun getting your hands dirty.

Do it yourself. It's a great learning experience. Its not that hard, just a little time consuming. I would not trust ANYONE to work on my car. They just wanna get cars in and out fast, they don't pay attention to detail. Good Luck
Defintly do it yourself. You learn so much about your car. It is nice to start with the easy things then you get more confident and do bigger things. If you have any questions just come back to the board. Also do a search because someone probly has step by step instructions on how to flush it. (I'll post it if I find it)
