converting from side mount to top mount battery posts

The only thing I hate that gm does is use side mount battery posts. Why do they do this, the only thing I like about it is they look a little sleaker than top mounts. But top mounts are SOOOOO much easier to put on and take off. I have a alarm on my car and it always goes off when I connect and disconnect the battery. I was looking at my battery the other day and I don't see any problems with changing it over unless it might rub against the hood. I doubt this since the battery I replaced the old one with had top mount posts on it.

Thanks

Dan

Well maybe your luck will be better than mine was. When I bought my old 93 Z28 it had a top mount battery in it at the time. My stock hood was hitting it and it was actually eating away at the underneath of my hood. Needless to say I quickly changed that to the way it was suppost to be.

when a battery is charge it gives off gas and on a top mount battery it bulids on the top causing a battery drain over time side mounts dont have this problem as much thats why gm does it.
