Convert dual cat car to single cat?

If i buy single cat headers, y-pipe, and cat-back and also convert to OBD1 will i pass emisions inspection, i will swap in the OBD2 PCM for inspection. Does anyone know if they look for both cats? When i swap in the OBD2 PCM and use O2 sims will that pass when they hook up their computer to check it?

My car needs a full exhaust and it think it would be cheaper to go this route than to keep the dual cats.

Yes, the OBDII does look for both cats, however, you should be OK with the simulators as long as they don't do a visual check and notice that one cat is missing...

Yes, you can leave it disconnected. The 94 computer will ignore it.
