CONSTANT TPS Problems!

Alright, ever since i got my as&m 54mm throttle body my car has been acting funny. Every now and then when i floor it or give it about 3/4 pedal the car will rev up and then shift into OD. After this the car starts running shaky and just not right.. It did it when the car was stock and just the TB and now it still does it with the h/c setup. The computer kept sending me a tps code saying falty wiring or bad sensor. So I replaced the sensor and im still having this problem. It is fixed when i reset the code by disconnecting the battery. Any suggestions?

You have to modify the tps where you screw it in drill the hole bigger at wot it should read above 4.3 volts if it dos not the ses light will come on

Find a board member to let you hook their Datamaster or similar tool and turn key on but dont start. Datamaster gives a number reading I think 99 is maxed when wot. Sometimes it will go back to 1 and you will get the probs you described. Other scanners may give voltage readings make sure that it reads linear as you move pedal. And try to find out the voltage window. (Edit) Just read yours is 96 so Datamaster wont work bud an OBD2 scanner should work. Should be min or max reading for voltage.
Anyone know if the scanners Autozone uses will do this???

Re: CONSTANT TPS Problems!

All you need to check the TPS voltage is a simple volt meter.... the kind you get in the $20 multi-meters. Alternatively, any good OBD-II scanner or scan software will check it.

The PCM checks both the closed throttle and wide open throttle voltage. If its less than 0.20V closed, you'll get P0122. If its more than 4.9V it sets code P0123. Then there's a rationality check. The PCM compares the throttle position reading to a predicted throttle reading based on engine RPM. That will set P0121. Which code did you get?
