i measured the stock inlet pipe(the part that connects to the air box) and it measured 3.5 inches....i was wondering, if i take a 3.5 inch cone filter and slip it over/in will it make a positive contribution?....i figure either it will be the middle grounds between a real CAI and stock...but then i got to thinking, is it too close and it will only get hot air?
any comments appreciated

 

Should have come up with that a few years ago...you'll get about as much from it as the G2 cai...

So to answer your question, no...

 

I think it will be better than stock... but your are right, it will take in hotter air.

 

Did that for a year and noticed zilch. don't waste your time.
