Computer tuning

I have a couple questions on the ease this is. I really want to get a cable and tuning program for my laptop to hook up to my 94 vette. I was just curious on how easy the tuning actually is? I was looking at madz28 right now for a tune but i have always wanted to attempt this stuff myself plus the abilitely to just watch what my car does down the track.

What tuner program is recommended? Do you need a seperate program to log your track runs etc? Just tryin to figure everything out it has always interested me. Thanks

You only have two choices for tuning software:

LT1_Edit (Comes bundled with pcmcomm scan softaware):
http://www.carputing.com/

TunerCat:
http://www.tunercat.com/

For a cable (look over the website - he has links to tuning guides):
http://www.akmcables.com/

And, we have a "Computer Diagnostics and Tuning" forum with some "stickies", and many posts related to tuning.

Scan software:
TTS DataMaster:
http://www.ttspowersystems.com/

FreeScan:
