Compressor and Front Spring Rep.
I got the rear DMS springs on with no problem. Now I'm debating taking the car to a shop to have the fronts installed or doing it myself. My only concerns is the compressor. I have the loaner compressor from Autozone and I just don't see how those thick clamps can fit in btwn the coils. I have also done a search and the only install guide I can find is the "Hal Shocks" by Fred. Anyone have insight or alternative ideas or tools that'll actually work on these springs?
Thanks
Thanks
Whether it is Hal shocks or stock shocks, compressing the spring is done the same. I have used the same compressor that Fred did more than once, worked fine and I was not scared of it coming off. If you don't want to mess with that part, just remove the shock/spring unit and take it to a shop and have them swap it. It won't cost much.
Thanx Shoebox,
Last night while doing searches on the topic of lowering springs I used your username for the keyword LOL. Needless to say you, had quite a few pages of posts filled with info.

I used a Craftsman spring compressor on my QA1 front drag springs. I broke the Autozone compressor (luckily I wasn't hurt) while compressing those springs.
