Compression Ratio
Compression Ratio
I picked up a set of used lt1 heads that allready have lt4 springs in them. These heads have the 52cc chambers. what will this bring my compression ratio to?
If im not going to port the heads, is it worth the $$$ to do the 3 angle valve job?

They are complete, really good condition, less then 60k miles on them. Got them from someone who took them off to throw a set of lt4 heads on his car.
I will still have them looked at. But is the valve job worth it?

Assuming that you use the stock pistons and the standard LT1 head gasket, your compression with the 52cc heads should be around 11.0:1. Also, getting a valve-job won't hurt you (if the person knows what they are doing), but you might as well get them ported while you are at it. I say wait until you have enough money (if that is what is holding you back), and get everything done all at once (you want a cam also, trust me
), and you will be a happy-camper. Good luck.

I am installing these heads with a lt4hotcam. But Im not really crazy about spending the extra money for a street port and polish job.
I will also be adding slp headers, 1.6 rr's. and other goodies.
thanks for the compression ratio!
