Compression Check?

I am like the subject says want to give my motor a compression test.I went to shoeboxs sight to see how I have to do the test it said the car has to be warm.My question is I dont want to start the car due to some problems Im having with it.Will I be able to get a accurate reading with the car cold?

If you have to do it cold, then do it cold. Warm is probably more accurate because of thermal expansion of the parts. How much difference there is in the readings, I am not sure.
