Composite intake made by Wilson

Seen an ad in Hot Rod magazine about Wilson manifold making a composite SBC(gen I) intake.

Thought I'd share the information.
Seems like it has a lot of neat features, I don't know how easily it could be made to work with LT1 heads.

Wilson had it at PRI show in December. Inside it looked like a Wilson-ported SuperVic (or similar manifold), which is to say damn good!.

Wonder if it's going to be a $1K manifold like so many others. With the Wilson name I'm sure it will be around there.

It will probably be more than $1000.00.

I figured more than a $1K, but not much more, I mean would people really pay $1500 or more for an SBC manifold just because it's a composite?

It would be interesting to see if it could take a nitrous backfire. I can just see peices if composite all over the place.

Haha, yeah, but flying composite is the least of your worries then. I'd rather that flying around than aluminum.

That's what burst panels or w/e they are called are for, the fast LSX intake has them .

Porting would be easier on the composite intake becuase you can literally unbolt half of it.

I sent an email to Wilson Manifolds asking about the price and this is what I got as a reply back:

Thank you for your interest in Wilson Manifolds. We will not know what the final cost of the composite manifold until the full production run is made but we estimate the retail price to be @ $700.

Regards,
Wilson Manifolds

Just have to find some good epoxy that can resist heat and gasoline. I don't know if there is anything out there.

LOL I can see it already. I'd imagine they would offer that service.
