Are Comp r lifters a must when swapping to an aftermarket cam?

I bought some used LS1 lifters (same as LT1) from a low mileage (5000K) car for $50. I sold my cam, but will use these to when I install 1.6 RRs and Combo-Motorsports springs.

If you look at Comp's catalog, they recommend an 850-16 lifter with all 305/306 and XE cams. It's an OEM replacement roller lifter (says so on the box). I would trust their recommendations for parts to use with a particular cam more than I would people's opinions here. Not that there aren't a LOT of people that REALLY know their stuff. It's just that Comp probably knows their parts better than we do.
