Comp 'R' lifters, CC Pro Mags users
1.6 pro mag non self align with comp R and isky adjustable guides - louder than my previous hot cam kit set up.
definately hear it.
exhaust of couse covers all noises but with the hood up and looking at the engine you definately hear the valve train.
I loosly locked the rocker nut at 0 lash and 1/4 turn tightened it all down

I run the 'r' lifters and 1.6 non-aligned 1.6 RR's and mine is rather loud, in fact we had a hard time getting them adjusted correctly, they could still be a bit off, which could be contributing to a bit more noise. It was pulling timing from the knock module before, but at the time i hadn't yet installed the lt4 km.
got Comp 1.6 pro mag and all I can say is Tic Tic Tic like a ****. I got use to it after awhile
Edit: As far as being loose, I don't think so they are tightened 1/4 turn past 0 lash. I have been told that 1/16 is good for spinning high rpm's so I did the 1/4 figuring break in and preload

If you don't have that"sewing machine" sound and there is a TICKING like one or more is making more noise than the other's you should re adjust them to get an even sound.Tighten the Poly locks real good. Run the allen down tight then bump the 9/16" with your hand a couple of times. You will get the "feel" of them when they are tight.
The biggest thing is to set the cyl on compression and learn the feel of the push rods when you are turning them to find the "0" spot.

no best way is adjust the comp R' lifters to ZERO lash while the car is running (idleing) take off say driver side valve cover, start the car, let it run for about 10 mins until the temp guage is showing about the same as you see while driving aroun, wait till oil pressure settles & start adjusting, loosen the nut, hold nut & loosen the poly lock, make sure poly is a few turns off, now you can easily tells zero lash, you loosen & you hear clicking, start tighting with fingers & you'll feel the nut stop, thats zero lash preload, anymore is hard with your fingers, but zero is right there, now hold the position of the nut with one hand & tighten the poly lock with the other hand quite tight, then put a 5/8's socket on the nut after tightening poly lock & give it a good slight turn to make sure its tight, shouldn't tighten more the 1/16th of a turn if even. do that for all of them, just did it today because I swaped cams.
running zero lash has to be done this way because when the engine is cold you can set to zero lash or even 1/8th turn but when the engine warms up & things like heads expand, all of the sudden you realize your rockers are too loose, sometimes too tight you'll find, this way is 100% tops from what I've seen, revs like a ****.

BTW when tighting the Poly lock tight make sure you use a wrench on the nut make sure it doesn't turn with it that tad bit, then when done tighten the nut tight but not too tight just enough & thats it, reason being why you have to hold the nut with the wrench when tightening the poly lock tight is becasue every little bit makes a huge difference with Comp R lifters, thats why you have to go to this extent, trust me, doing this on my car is the hardest because I have my LS1 coils mounted on my valve covers for my LTCC, so I have to take the wires off, put long wires on move coils aside & do this, then put it all back together LOL, pays off in the end though.

Not really sure why your guy's valvetrains are so loud. I could understand if we were talking solid roller. IMO, should not be loud at all.
