comp pro mag rockers noise?

I just finished my cc306 swap last week and I noticed some noise during the first startup. After going through my heat cycles for the valve springs the sound died down a lot but comes and goes. I know I adjusted everything properly. I used Shoebox's site for the procedure. Is this normal for these rockers. They are nsa and I'm using GMPP guideplates.

They should have very faint ticking sounds being produced, sounds like a buch of sewing machines. This is normal.
Cams with higher lift may produce louder ticking than those with less lift.

If the noise seems loud then chances are you have a rocker too loose in terms of backlash adjustment. A mechanics stethoscope will pinpoint the specific rocker in seconds.

my crane golds clicked and clacked so bad for the first 50 miles. Than slowly but surely they stopped. Well like stated above, they kind of sound like a sewing machine.
The real loud noise should stop shortly.

Comp pro mags are fairly loud, but like stated above it should just be a ticking, like a sewing machine. And if one of them is not adjusted properly, and is to loose, you will know it!

Mine get louder right at 2500 rpms then quiet back down. Not sure if it's normal... just saying what they do!

Scorpion 1.7's are quieter on mine, not to mention the 10 rwhp they gave me over my 1.6 promag's.

Thanks everyone. I figured it was normal but just had to be sure. The noise is similar to a sweing machine so I guess I'm ok. I'm still waiting on my tb so I haven't driven the car more than across the street to work on other cars in the driveway. I can't wait to see how it runs.

However if you have a louder noise coming from one area that is a loose rocker. You will be able to tell though. You can put your ear up to it and narrow it down to which cylinder it is. That's how I quieted mine down without overtightening any others. Now I cannot hear anything unless I open the hood and listen real close and even then the sewing machine noise is hardly noticable after 3500 miles with the new engine set up.

I have the Comp Pro Mag 1.6s NSA w/guidplates with the cc306 and that's my experience. Half a turn on 7/16 rockers is perfect for noise on this set up.
