Comp pro mag poly lock broke???

Comp pro mag poly lock broke???
Has anyone ever broke a ploy lock? I just rebuilt a motor and the comp 7/16 poly lock on one rocker split in half. Any one know what may have caused this. I have never heard of one breaking.
