comp cams sucks

for any of you thinking of using them, dont. there customer service blows.
last week i installed a hotcam and springs with comp cams 1.6 3/8 sa rr's.
all fine and dandy right, yeah until i started the car and one of my rockers slips off the valve and starts pounding on the top of the valve retainer. well i couldnt figure it out till somebody on the board here said look at the others and compare and low and behold comp cams sent me 1 NSA rr and 15 SA rr's.
cute huh
well i called them and told them and they are shipping me 1 new rr
didnt offer any kind of apology or discount for there screw up and told me that if i wanted overnight/nextday delivery it would cost me 25 dollars.
basically they want me to pay them for there screw up, so now im out 1 rr till friday when UPS ground delivers it.
i hate comp cams!!!!

That's pretty messed up. I've heard of that exact same thing happening before, that's hard to believe something like that happens so much. Don't these rockers come already packaged together when they are manufactured? Seems strange that one wrong rocker could get in there.

Not defending CC customer service (or lack thereof) but that's the kind of stuff you should always check before installing parts. I measure and check everything. I have found (from various manufacturers) mismatched valves, valve springs, piston rings, etc.

I have a somewhat similar story.... However mine was 15 1.6:1 NSA rockers and one 1.5:1 however for me they were great they had the new rocker there by 11am the next day and at no charge. good thing I checked before they went into the engine even though no damage would have occured.

EDIT: I just read some of the responses seems most people just right off start bitching to customer service and had to wait a long time or pay for next day. Whearas I usually try to be understanding the first time around and calm on the phone and I have pretty much always gotten the right part shipped same day for no additional charge.

I had a similiar problem.

I got 15 1.6 rockers and 1 1.5 rockers.

I bought them from Cmotorsports and I never did get the other rocker from them.

Luckily I had another set that had some bad rockers, so I just used one of the good old ones and forgot about it til' now.

So I have one Brand New 1.5 Pro-Magnum if some wants to buy it.

Does anyone else think it's really strange that all these people got just one wrong rocker out of a set of 16??? I never hear of anyone getting like 8 of one, 8 of another, that would make a little sense to me. Maybe someone's trying to sabatoge things at CC Who knows.
