So we all pretty much agree, that it would be difficult to go after the manufacturer. The mechanic is the real culprit here. He should know better, and if unsure, that is where he needs to start calling people and asking questions. Maybee the mechanic has a warranty also, that states if he screws up, the owner of the car is liable. Well then in that case one would be a idiot to do business with them. We don't know the whole story either. We don't know the mechanics side, which we probably won't either.
