Comp Cams High-Tech Stainless 1.7 RR's

Has anyone used or heard anything on the Comp Cams High-Tech 1.7 RR's? I am looking to do some roller rockers soon and think i should just go with the 1.7's since they see a slightly higher gain. I just wonder how light they are. From what i hear stainless is very dependable and used in very demanding conditions but i wonder how light weight they are.

1.7 rockers with strong springs will eat up your lifters... keep that in mind. Say for example of you get a spring like the comp cams 941 springs. If you get 1.5 rockers, then you will get about 350 open pressure and about 370 with the 1.7s. But what most people dont understand is the open pressure is also multiplied by the rocker ratio to find the pressure on the lifter. A 1.7 rocker will put 20% more stress on a lifter than a 1.5 rocker will (roughly speaking) with the same setups.

In other words, i wouldnt go 1.7 unless you also go Comp-R lifters.

If it was to be used with a stock cam would it really be anything to worry about? Not like you'de need a lot of spring for a stock cam and you wouldnt be revving any higher... but with an aftermarket cam with more aggresive lobes may be another story, just curious...?

True, just be careful. Thats all i was getting at. You could get away with LT4 springs. Dont forget that the Hi-Tech rockers are NSA and you will need to get guideplates.

On the weight thing I know the ProMagnums act lighter than aluminums due to less material being needed and due to better balance, so I would not worry about the weight. On springs, the heavy part of the valvetrain is the hydraulic roller lifter since high ratio rockers allow you to hit high lift with less lobe lift you can often get away with less spring pressure than you would have needed give equivalent lift but done with lobes instead.
