You aren't saying what they are. Part number or pic? There's more than one Comp 1.6 rocker.

Ok, those are just roller tipped rockers. Only marginally better than stock and don't give nearly as much benefit as full roller rockers (that have a roller fulcrum). You just install them like any other rocker. Hopefully your springs are up to the extra lift.

Re: comp cams 1.6 rr's

i wish i knew if the springs were stock or upgraded, but like i said they're new
would it be worth it to hold off on installing them to get some springs i know would be better or would the potential stockers be able to handle it? and would i have to hack up the valve cover to get these in?

If you hit coil bind on the springs, you're going to bend the pushrods. You have to measure and be sure, or check with the person that rebuilt the heads.

They'll fit under the stock valve covers.... dimensionally they are no different than the stockers, except for the small bit of extra lift. I'm running 0.590" lift with the stock valve covers, way more than you'll get with the

Here's a guide:

Valve Spring Tech - Lunati Power

See "Valve Spring Coil Clearance".

It would be much easier to contact the person who "reworked" the heads.

Re: comp cams 1.6 rr's

just contacted the shop, they just used OE springs. lt4 springs would be up to the task, right? and be worthwhile for a future cam install

Re: comp cams 1.6 rr's

The LT4 springs would only be acceptable for an LT4 cam (or smaller) and not really anything more aggressive.

Re: comp cams 1.6 rr's

Some people feel that the LT4 springs are somehow inferior, because the LT4 valves were very light, due to being hollow stem (intake) and sodium filled (exhaust). Not sure how true that is. The LT4 seat pressure is higher than the LT1.

An LT4 intake valve weighs 85 grams, an LT1 intake weighs 110 grams. On the exhaust side, the LT4 valve weight 75 grams, the LT1 valve weighs 95 grams.

An LT4 cam has 0.476" Intake/0.479" Exhaust lift. An LT1 cam with 1.6X rockers has 0.477"/0.490". You may have an issue with the exhaust lift. In any case, LT4 valve springs are not really suitable for a "future cam install" of anything even slightly more aggressive than the LT1/LT4 cams.

Re: comp cams 1.6 rr's

Those specs are for the LT4 cam, not the LT4 HOT cam. That's what you asked about.
