I wouldn't recommend bigger for the stock bottom end. I could spin my CC306 past 6500 if I wanted to and still make some power, but the bottom end wouldn't like it.

With the CC305 or LT4 HC, you'd only spin out to about 6200.

All depends if you want more lift (305), or a lopier idle (LT4).

I'd go with the LT4 hot cam since its pretty easy to pass it through the smog rollers.

Edit: You also might want to chop down your signature, moderators don't like to see sigs over lines.

I've passed Ca smog dyno with a cc305 so both will easily pass mog with a good tune.

For stock heads I would go with the hot cam. If you have ported I would go with the CC305, the extra lift will help take advantage of the heads.

Have you looked into the EX cams yet?

So here's a question that goes along with this, which one would be the better choice for my LT4 Firehawk?? I've been looking at both, and what I keep coming back to is all I have to do with the Hotcam is put it in. I don't have to change anything else, versus the CC305 I'll need new springs as well. Plus the hotcam was designed specifically for the LT4 anyway.

If I were you I would go with the hotcam. There's not much difference between the two and it would be a cheaper and much simpler swap since you can reuse your LT4 springs. Changing the valve springs with the heads on is a little bit tricky on these cars to say the least Plus the fact that you have the most rare 4th gen ever made. I think it would be more 'appropriate' to use original GM parts especially if you were ever to resell it, but that's just me.

I really doubt I'll ever sell it, but I'm keeping ALL the stock parts so it can go back to 100% stock.

It'll be a negligable difference between the two since they're simmilarly sized cams.
