Exclamation Comp Cam 230/236 xe, high miles?

i have a 94 z28 and i want to put a cam in. It will be no small cam, a Comp Cam 230/236 xe, but my car has 160,000 miles on it. It has never had a rebuild but it runs great. Could i put this cam in and run it until the engine gives out or could that damage the cam. i was hopin to get just 10,000 miles in to save up enough money, to make it a dream rebuild to a 396 with quality parts. Do you think this is possible without major threat to the cam, block or car?

if i was you i wouldn't run a cam that big in such a high mileage engine because you need to rev it more to make power. I wouldn't try to put it in and run it because if you spin a bearing the cam can be ruined.

I know 160,000 miles sounds like alot of miles but the car runs really strong, 13.7's in the 1/4 with a basically stock car. it was owned by a mechanic before me who changed the oil on time everytime. So i think it can handle the high rpms, but is the risk of throwing a bearing to great, to chance the new cam and lifters?
