Comp 986 springs...

Im using comp 986's withmy cc306 swap. What all do i need to get to run these springs, can i use stock locks/retainers or do I need specific ones. I saw in another post that you need to use locators with these springs is this true?

Thanks in advance..

Re: Comp 986 springs...

you might be able to use the stock retainers and clips, but why would you? Not worth it's weight in gold for the peace of mind you get with new stronger ones. Retainers and clips should cost around 90 bucks. I would def. upgrade those. I dropped a valve because I upgraded springs without upgrading retainers and clipse. Put a hole in the top of my piston. Not fun.
