which combo to run
which combo to run
i am considering a head and cam swap on my lt1 i am up in the air about both the cam and which rocker and spring set to use i am thinking highly about the comp cams 306 cam
Specifications:
* Advertised duration: 290 intake/307 exhaust
* Duration at .050 in. cam lift: 230 intake/244 exhaust
* Gross valve lift: .510 in. intake/.540 in. exhaust
* Lobe separation: 112 degrees
* RPM range: 1,800 to 5,800
with either a 1.6 or 1.7 rocker and a spring that will hold .600 lift for the 1.6 or .630 lift for the 1.7 will i have any problems with either set up? is there a better cam for my app? are there any other parts i will be required to change ?
Thanks for any input you can give me

With 1.7's the pistons and valves will have a very special bonding relationship.
1.6's and a 306 will be fine, but don't go any higher on the lift than that combo. Also, be sure and get the Comp "R" lifters with this setup. DO NOT use stock replacement lifters with this setup. You'll fry them in no time with such stiff springs the same way it happened to Ben's motor.
