Combination Motorsports ex 612 valvesprings
Combination Motorsports ex 612 valvesprings
anyone use these? my LT1 has roughly 30K miles on the crane dual springs w/ the comp305 cam. I think i will change out the springs just for preventive maintenance
would these work well w/ my comp305 camshaft and Crane "gold" 1.6 roller rockers which I have??
I'm about to make a call to Cmotorsports for the springs but would like some input.
also when changing out the springs, all i really need is just to compress the cylinder w/ air (got the tools needed) to hold the valves up...then have at her w/ the spring change right? nothing needed to hold up the pushrods or anything? I'm sure it's a stoopid question but i just gotta ask. thanks guys
and yes i know how to reset my valve lash when i put it all back together

Re: Combination Motorsports ex 612 valvesprings
i have been reading up in this thread:
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...2+valvesprings
It looks like the failure is a freak thing.....and lots of people have been having good luck w/ the CM ex 612 springs.
only thing though, from me changing from a dual spring to a single spring....would I lose a little "reliability" in the valvespring or no? I guess for a 100 bucks, i could settle for changing the springs out again in 20K miles :dunno:

612s should be fine with that setup. Dont bother with compressed air, the valves cant drop through the heads on a stock stroke motor, and the valve seals will hold the valve up enough to get the spring on. Pushrods you just pull out, and set new ones in. Pretty basic
