Cam Swap and DIY Head Porting...

If I am relatively very new to modding my car, should i not even THINK about doing my own cam swap or porting my heads? I've read that basic port jobs are no biggie.

Any advice?

Leave your stock heads alone. There is a reason most of us spend lots of money getting our heads ported by professionals.

Re: Cam Swap and DIY Head Porting...

All I needed to hear, won't touch em. Bout the cam. Sounds very involved, but the more I read about it, the more I'd like to do it myself, just for the learning experience. How easily could I seriously SCREW THINGS UP?

Does this cover everything pretty well? http://www.afrashteh.com/guide/install.htm

Just need some advice, thanks guys.

As long as you pull out the old cam and put in the new cam steadily youl be fine. Plus make sure no debris is left behind.

cam swap is easy but a little time consuming. Dropping the oil pan is the biggest pain in the *ss but everything else is a piece of cake.

Shoebox has a very well done guide on his site. Wish it was up before I did mine many moons ago
