Cold Ait Intake

I plan to install a Cold Air Intake system and would like to know:

* What are the plus' and minus' versus stock paper and oiled cloth type air cleaners?
* What CAI systems are you using?
* How do you like your CAI system?
* Do you see difference in HP or gas mileage?
* Is your the best CAI system?

Thanks for your input. I can't think of a better way to shop than to ask a very experienced group of LT1 owners as you are.

I have had the K&N and Moroso CAI units both with K&N filters on them. I didnt like the Moroso as much as the K&N. It will give you decent little HP gain, no real noticable change in gas mileage for me. I can not think of any advantage of having a regular filter over CAI. Make sure you get a good flowing exhaust to compliment the rush of air coming in so it also rushes out.

my $.02.

Their all about the same. Make sure you get one with a K&N filter. The CAI is for getting cold air as well as reducing turbulence. ie, superior to putting just a filter in your stock housing. Oilde filters flow tons better than paper. A K&N filter with 30,000 miles on it flows just as good as a new paper filter!

I have the moroso unit and i thought it was pretty solid piece. I think most all the CAI are the same and perform the same. The only one I don't recomend is the G2 CAI. It is basically a stock unit.
