Which Cold Air Intake?
Which Cold Air Intake?
I have been looking at two as of right now. Im not sure which one is best. I have been looking at the K&N and SLP intake for a 94 Lt1. If anyone knows which is best or knows of any other companies that make good ones please let me know. Also here are the two I have been looking at.

you will get the same gains as long as its not some ebay homemade intake. differences are price and the tone of the sucking sound made by the intake. also the material, which is generally plastic, with a few metal ones
I had an Ligenfelter on my car and I loved it, I switched to a LS1 MTI induction with my 02 WS6 conversion and now I am back to a 4inch custom aluminum setup with a 10inch filter (seems to be working really good).
You can't go wrong with either one, I heard removing the filters on the SLP is a little trickier, but I don't know that for fact. I have the Moroso cold air intake and have no complaints. It runs about the same price that the K&N does and are nearly identical in design.
I have the GMPP intake, which is basically a stainless version of the SLP. Taking the filters out on it is a PITA. You have to really wedge your hands in there to get at the filters since there's two of them. Short, small flatblade screwdriver will save you a bunch of effort in the long run.
i have the K&N, probably just because that name sticks out to me as being one of the best intake names and most well-known. but i've heard they'll all do about the same thing. K&N keeps the stock look with the black plastic, which i liked. install wasn't bad and i haven't messed with it for about a year now. my vote is K&N, unless you find one of the other ones cheaper
i almost bought the lingenfelter one but the guy never got back to me about it so i bought the ebay one...havent put it on yet(work and school) but it came in yesterday, looks nice, and it also goes all the way down to get fresh air...not bad for $46 bux with shipping. I'll probably install it tonight and take pics...no test drive, we had our first snow this morning lol
