If you're going to buy one new i'd go with the Moroso over the K&N because i think its designed a little better. Putting the filter on the K&N can be a pain if you don't have someone else around to help. Honestly though i'd just look through the for sale forum and buy one used. That is what i did when i ditched my ram air and wanted to go back to a CAI.

i was under the impression that they were almost exactly the same design, but i haven't been looking at different intakes since last year when i was making my choice so i wouldn't exactly remember. the filter was a little hard to get in on the K&N, but it was me and my dad doing it so that helped. it was a real tight squeeze at first. but i guess thats good because it hasn't moved or messed up any since then

I got the SLP and am pretty happy with it, but I think its a little long makes it very hard to fit my intake elbow to the TB.

Cold air

1 week after purchasing my Z new in 94 I put on an ASM cold air and have loved it since. Big crome tube, large K&N filter. You can actually hear it sucking the air in.

You had a CAI on a Honda?
Well ideally you wouldn't want to hear any sucking sound.

I don't think the CAI had anything to do with the Honda making a "Sucking" sound. It's an old problem with hondas. They make that sound even when they aren't running.

True that.

I recommend the lingenfelter unit. cheaper and the filter is huge! not too bad to install either. and by the way you can hear the air sucking thru my aem shortram on my honda. I have the lingenfelter on my 93z
