Cold acceleration stutter....*Occasionally

When I first start the car in the morning or at the end of a work day, sometimes it will stutter when I get it on the road and hit it. From the time I floor it on, it misses and sputters like crazy. It leaves me with absoloutly no acceleration and a red face from embarassment. I hate when my car doesn't run right.

I hate to ask....but opti? Has new wires and plugs. The wires are the Over The Valve Cover wires. The passenger side wires are all tucked behind the alternator. I shouldn't have arcing problems out of new wires. On top of that, only when the motor is cold pretty much rules that out.

Stock coil I believe. What tests should I perform to track it down?

The wires that are tucked behind the alternator, make sure that the wires are not hitting the power streering pulley. What brand of wires did you buy?

Taylor wires. It runs fine when it's warm.

Anyone else? It's probably been talked about before, but I can't find any good answers. Would really appreciate some help.

Mine won't drive down the road if its too cold. But thats because the forged bottom end has a bit of a rattle when cold.

Stock motor?

My guess is that something dramatically affects your air/fuel mixture in open loop. I think it can possibly be your faulty coolant temperature sensor, or other sensor like MAF/MAP. Plugs may be fouled too. Hard to tell.
