At the time I did my block, Cola was having quality issues. Callies had not come out with their Dragonslayer yet. So I got a Scat forged piece. You should be able to get any crank you want since most use the same dimensions. Unless the crank you're talking about was offset ground or something exotic like that. Otherwise I could only guess that Cola has worked through their quality issues.

I am currently running a COla crank in my car. Put down over 700 rwhp without a problem. IMO they are a good crank for the price.

They make some good stuff.

They went thru a bankruptcy before so that could be related to the problems

Re: cola cranks???

Hey guys, a little FYI for you. Cola has never had quality issues with any parts. In fact Cola is the original home of the "4340 non-twisted" forgings and was the first to produce an after market GM type crankshaft forging. We have been kind of a behind the seen manufacture, you just didn't know you were using our parts. We private labled parts for many other companies and even have done rough machine work for the competition. Some names you might know, Summit Racing, we supplied parts to them at the rate of 300 parts per month for 6 years, Comp. Products, Race Engineering, Arrow Speed Warehouse, Jasper Engines, Lunati Cams, Mountain State Distributors and many other warehouse groups. We have done prototype work for GM, we did all the Indy car r&d for Buick and quite a bit for Chevrolet. Ford, EMDO division which is their 5 to 7 year ahead of production group. We are working now to get the Chrysler V-10 Viper program which is projected for 15,000 units per year. We just got the contract to build all the 427 Ford cranks for Carroll Shelby for his Cobras. So as you can see we are not a hole in the wall operation, we just moved to a new 20,000 sq foot building in Whittier California and the move put us a little behind. Our new phone numbers are, for sales (818) 547-2200, tech (562) 646-1690. I have been with the company for over 27 years and most of my crew have at least that many years. We are a high quality low cost manufacture, we have equipment few in the crank business could only dream of and that's the reason we can sell at a better price, lower overhead. Our cranks are all 100% "USA" made, and can handle 2000HP plus, and over 10,000 RPM. I can proudly say we make as well if not better than any other crankshaft manufacture in the country, including Bryant, Winberg, Crower, Callies and Lunati.
Thank You,
Raul Negrete
