Question Coil glow?

I just put in a new MSD coil. If I slowly rev it up there is no glow no matter how high the rpm goes. But if the throtle is stabed the coil glows on both sides. It glows blue, and the stock on did this also.
Thanks
Zack S.

Make sure all your grounds are in good shape and tight.

By "grounds" do you mean the bolds going into the head?
Thanks

The closest one I can remember is the braided ground strap that is on one of the coil studs. Also the negative battery cable that is on the lower, front, passenger side of the block. You might as well check the ones on the RH shock tower while you are at it.

You did not mention if you were having any driveability problems like a miss or anything.

yup i got the miss. I did the coil and ran it down the road about 10-15 mins and it seemed fixed. Drove to school after letting it sit about 30min-1hr and was going to show my wife how it was fixed and it started doing it again just like before. Im going to replace the wires and spark plugs next, i may go with the ohv wires (wonder if they work with stock manifolds?).
Thanks
Zack S.

No, you don't want over the valve cover wires with stock manifolds, because you would be routing them right over the top of the manifold where they would be likely to get burned.

Carefully check your coil wire and the connections/harness to the coil for any corrosion.

i thought this was normal?

i have a low RPM miss, and my stock coil glowed on both sides and my new accel coil does the same thing. its not suppose to do that?

actually I have a low RPM miss. I just checked my plugs (only 2 of them, thats all I could reach for now) and they both seemed fine. I RPM miss continues until about 2000 but sometimes 2300. It feels like the tranny is going to fall out, and just jerks exept when cold. When you stabe the throtle it glows until the rpms catches up with the throttle position. When you slowly bring it up it does not glow. Is it normal for the coil to glow like this? Anasazi has the same symptoms and his coil glows? I did take it for a 15 min test drive and it did fine (could it take longer for heat soak to set it?), but it could have burnt out in 15 min I guess. If it did, that might set a record for MSD haha.
THanks
Zack S.

the more i read this and now i find out about the low rpm miss i'm thinking you may need to change out your O2 sensors. i had a similar problem when one of my O2s was fouled. I also cleaned the MAP sensor at the same time. One of these cured the problem but I think it was the O2s. As for the coil glowing, i don't think that is normal.

you can bearly notice the glowing, but its there. its like comming between the outter square loop and the coil itself. its a nice pretty blue color, only noticable at night in the dark. this happened both on my stock coil and my accel.

you think it might be a grounding problem?
