Codes 16, 41, & 42

Optispark low resolution pulse not found, ignition control circuit (open), and ignition control circuit (short, or grounded).

I was driving my car yesterday and it went nuts on me and died. Had it towed back home, it started right up today and gave me these codes.

What do you guys think, time for a new ICM?

not getting the low res signal will make it die and not start. The ICM codes could be from it dieing when the opti failed. you might just wanna clear the codes out and crank it and make sure that just the low res code comes back

Wasn't wet or raining yesterday and the opti/coil are both brand new. Was driving fine and all of the sudden started to spit and sputter around. These codes just came up today. I'm resetting my PCM right now to see what happens next.

Reset the PCM and now I'm not getting any codes... Wow, this car is something else. Drives fine again now, actually had the neighborhood cop talk to when I pulled in.

Now I'm afraid to drive it, because I know it'll get stuck in town again!

MAF IS FINE!
