code scanners

Hello everyone I just found this site and need some help. I have a 94 z28 and want to be able to read the codes from the computer. I had a code scanner that is just a jumper type and it will not work even though the book said it would. I am not sure if I have and obd I or II, everything I read says it is an obd I which should work with my jumper type reader. Can someone tell me what will work to read the codes without spending a fortune.

Yep, yours is OBDI, but you can't use a jumper-type thing to flash codes, only the 93's could do that. You'll have to either pay to have it done at a shop/dealer, or buy a diagnostic tool.

Actron and Autoxray both have either a code reader or scan tool that will do the job. Check their sites.

This is the one im looking at getting and its for OBD1, or OBD2, so you could use it on any other cars you have. I also only heard good things about it from people that have them.
Where do you live in SC? I live in Blythewood. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
