Code: EGR vacuum not flowing properly
Code: EGR vacuum not flowing properly
OK, not sure of the code or the exact message the diagnostic machine said at Autozone, but I know it was right along those lines. A couple weeks ago I filled up my tank at Sunoco (94 octane) and after driving around for 15-20 mins, my check engine light came on. So I went to Autozone and the guy told me it was that code....he cleared the code, and the SES light never came back on on that tank of gas.
This past Friday night I filled up at Cumberland Farms (premium gas), and after about 15-20 mins of driving the SES light came back on. I didnt go to Autozone because I'm figuring its the same code as before. The light is still on....
What do you guys think?
Thanks

You really need to get the exact code.... otherwise everyone is just guessing. That said, are you sure it was "EGR vacuum"? that would likely be the vacuum solenoid. But, maybe it was "EEC vacuum".... a problem related to the charcoal canister near the fuel fill pipe? Is it possible, since this seems to happen when you fill the tank, that you have a faulty fill cap, or you have overfilled it and saturated the EEC canister?
Like I said... there are so many possibilities in OBD-II that it is really impossible to sort things out without the exact trouble code.

The Verdict is in:
Code: P0400 (EGR Flow Malfunction)
I figure my egr valve needs to be replaced. I'll just have pcmforless remove it when I get my OBDI conversion.
Any other input is more than welcome
Thanks,
