code 36

94z28 with k&n air intake.parts i replaced. fuel pump, pcm, egr,o2sensors, pcv, water pump, thermostat, radiator, assembly hoses for water pump to engine and a tune up about a year ago..i took my car to my college and they put in a new fuel pump and pcm. they got code of 16 and said it may have something to do with alarm or may be distributor..i took my car to CHEVROLET and they came back with code of 36. said it was distributor and also harness..$806 for distributor $86 for harness. $500 for labor..also mentioned that hoses for emissions were melted due to backfire. my symptoms were misfire backfire, car stumbles, and rarely happens but it would crank with no start..need feedback,,thanks..

Re: code 36

36 and 16 are opti codes. Check the harness first, to be sure there are no connection issues.
