Code 27?

What's a code 27 on a 93z? I keep reading different answers. My car won't start and that's the code it just gave me.

Re: Code 27?

That's what I thought. Just wasn't sure on a 93. No spark just tested at the plugs. Very weird. Drove it passed 2 days. Parked for 5 mins wouldn't start

Re: Code 27?

It's for the trans. Is yours manual or auto? You really need to set up a "Signature".

In any case, a problem with torque converter lockup, or the reverse lockout solenoid will not prevent the engine from starting.

Describe what happens when you turn the key to "start"?

Re: Code 27?

I'm very sorry. I thought I set the signature. I'll not use my phone and try from computer.

T56. Check engine light flashes. Gauges all work or light up. Low coolant light comes on(popped up too before I parked car). I literally not sure if luck or not but took the block out of block and with wire connected ground it out and the car started. I drove into house and parked. Than I tried from that wire to see if there is spark with a screw driver and didn't see anything. Once again sorry about the signature. I'll do it tom

Quad-Driver Module (QDM) #2 circuit
applies to:
- 4L60 TCC control and temp switches
or
-T56 reverse lockout
When you use a phone, it seems like it just makes everything harder for the people trying to help you, particularly with the "signature".

Re: Code 27?

These are the DTC 27 pages from the 1993 factory manual. Problem is, they require a Tech 1 for testing the circuits.

Re: Code 27?

Would this issue coincide with no spark?

Re: Code 27?

Sorry for being all over the place. After I did that tuneup and had injectors cleaned and tested the car ran and was driven for last 3 days. Yesterday while driving low coolant temp light came on. I check fluid was low so I added alittle. Parked car for 5 mins. Than went to drive and only cranks. Nothing else. So I decided to see if there was spark and grounded a plug wire and the car started. So I replaced boot back on plug and car doesn't start. Flashed it and gave me a code for 02 sensor and that code 27. Hope this clarifies situation.

Regarding the code, No. You said you grounded a plug wire and successfully started the car. Is this test repeatable or was that a fluke?

Thanks for the correction Fred. I should have verified that on Rob's site before posting. I won't make that mistake again.

Thanks again...

Re: Code 27?

Was a fluke. Tried again and didn't work. Also went from msd to stock and still no luck.
