Re: Cobra want to race

Assuming yours is tuned and running well you should at worst match him power wise, and most likely have a fair amount more ponies reaching the ground than him. Plus there's the big fact that you car is lighter. Should be a solid win for you everything else equal. I would think he could have the average bolt ons and it still be a very competitive race, at that point he'll be putting down more power than you most likely, but you'll still be lighter...

Yeah but is that 390 hp at the rear or at the flywheel?

Re: Cobra want to race

They put down around 360-380 on average to the rear wheels from what I've read. A good tune LE2 LT1 should put down 380-400+ easy.

Re: Cobra want to race

All 2003 Cobras are the "supercharged models". I think the cobra will win without a doubt.

Honda Hunter, why do you think so? Just curious?

I think you will give him one hell of a run for his money. Espeically if you can drive.

I think so because Ive seen alot of them run and theyre quick. The best he can do is hope it really is stock. If you look at my Lightning motor you wouldnt know it wasnt stock unless you knew exactly what to look for and Im pretty sure this guy doesnt from the "supercharged version" statement. Just my opinion though. The only way to find out is to take it to the track and see.

Re: Cobra want to race

That does make sense ...

Just seemed like most of the ones I saw were mid to high 12 second cars stock. So I figured a LE2 should be turning those times OK with a nice launch. Faster really.

Re: Cobra want to race

The Cobras I seen run without drag radials or slicks seem to run 13.1-13.5 on regular tires. Depends on the driver.

Re: Cobra want to race

le2 takes it. I've heard of most of them making 350-360 at the wheels (cobra that is). le2's shouldn't have a problem laying down 400 to the wheels on a good tune. i believe lloyd even advertises 400+ rwhp on a good tune. honda hunter, him saying that it is the "supercharged version" doesn't make him stupid. since a lot-most of us don't give a damn about mustangs, we don't really keep up on what years have this and that. btw, what would make you think the cobra would win "without a doubt"? less powerful and weighs more....
