Coating LT1 Intake?

Is putting some sort of ceramic coating on our LT1 intakes possible/worth it? Maybe my problem isn't related to the intake (all though I think it is) But when my car starts up in the morning after sitting in the nice cold weather, I wait 30 seconds for it to warm up and then drive it. And the difference in power between those first 10 min of driving and then after that for the rest of the day is unbelievable. After my intake is heat soaked it just doesn't seem to have ANY power. I push the gas and nothing! When it's cold I get thrown back in my seat.

So is this intake heat soak related? Does this even happen to anyone else? (I know it happens, but how much? I mean I can REALLY tell the difference.. it's like I'm running two different engines.) But if getting the intake coated will do something then I'm certainly up for that. If this is an intake heat problem.. then what might it be? Thanks guys

Trevor

yes that is exactly the problem - alum. intake manifold. When i do my cam swap I'm definitely going to invest the 150 bucks to get the top and bottom coated. I'm probably going to do the TechLine coating. They put a thermal barrier on the bottom of the manifold where it connects to the head and a thermal dispersant on top so any heat that does get in leaves faster. I'm sure it's really going to improve driving the car.

I mean the difference from when my car is cold and warmed up is huge especially since I'm blown and non-intercooled. I swear my car could beat stock car from 20-60 when it's cold it just flies but when it's warm,

That's been discussed many times, the project would be way too expensive. For example, the LSx intake that FAST is going to be releasing soon is going to go for 800 dollars.

I can't believe it would cost too much to make an LT-1 intake
the ford breadbox intakes for the 5.0 are dirt cheap and they are polymer plastic

That's ford... there's like 90 different intake manifolds you can buy for a 302 SBF carbed or injected.
