which coating?
which coating?
JET-HOT 2000 or JET-HOT Sterling for midlength headers and y pipe? What temperature do our exhaust gases normally exit the engine at?
the sterling works "beautifully on new or used parts at temperatures up to 1,300°F"
2000 is "Formulated for very high temperatures, this rugged matte-gray coating protects substrates up to 2,450°F, heat levels sometimes encountered in Rodding and Off-Road applications.

I'd guess that 99.9% of the people on this site go with the Jet-Hot sterling finish. The 2000 finish really isn't needed on anything but the most exotic race cars (those that don't run on pump-gas) or in high-temp industrial scenarios. Go with sterling, you won't be disappointed! BTW, the sterling finish will last as long as your car doesn't run overly lean, causing the headers to "glow".
