Coated MACs - Waiting on the O2s

A friend and I are both installing Jet hot coated macs over the weekend. (Fri-Sat-Sun if all goes well). I have some old O2 sensors I'm going to throw in while the inside of the headers "burns off" as I have heard that the coating can wreck O2 sensors.

Since were both pressed for time to do the installs, we are hoping that it might be ok to just take the cars out for a sping on the hwy to burn the crap off, and just drive back, remove the old O2's and put the good ones back in if possible.

Does anyone know how long this burnoff process takes? Would 30 minutes of highway driving be enough to burn it off, or with this take a few days/weeks to do?

i did a pacesetter install about a month ago, and I heat cycled mine about 12 times in the garage, and then drove it once open headers before putting my new 02s in. I havent had any problems, my city milage increased since install but my highway went down equally.

Why not leave the old O2's in for a couple of weeks and then replace them later. Not a big deal to replace O2 sensors.
