GMMG style exhaust question

I just bought (2) S.S. 30" long tube 3" chambered mufflers from Summit. I wanted to bring them to meineke and have them custom make the exhaust to look like the GMMG. But as i am thinking about it, maybe i can just have them custom make the exhaust and have them put a y-pipe and the 2 mufflers behind the Cat and make it look like true dual out the back. Hope this made sense. I dont think it matters either way. just looking for opinions. All i know is it should sound the same as the CMMG but for half the price. thanks

2x 30" mufflers are not going to fit before the stock CAT/CATs location, which means moving the heat shield yada yada, not worth it. Find a place to stick them that wont have you crushing them at every speed bump, like where the stock muffler goes.

Why would you want 2 mufflers? That is twice the restriction. Dual exaust is one pipe going from either side of the engine, never meeting oneanother, and hitting individual mufflers. I think you would be happier with true dual straight pipes, w/o a muffler. But then you will have a problem with lack of back pressure.

I think you should buy a stock exhaust from someone off this board, probably $50 max for it all probably free if you ask nicely, and put that back on and get a cut out for $30. For $80 you can have more power than a catback exhaust, but the quietness of stock exhaust for highway use.

I think you were referreing to the GMMG chambered exhaust. I love the sound of mine but I have no personal experience with the Summit chambers. I am glad you know about the Flowlessmaster.

I guess I wrote wrong, my bad.
GMMG has basically 2 resonators, not mufflers. With that said they flow straight through instead of being moved around, ie. Flowmaster which reflects the exhaust in a number of directions.
In a way I guess you can call GMMG 2 different mufflers, but they are really just resonators.

Just so you know, it's GMMG. I say use the the pipe from the cat, and use a Y-pipe to use both mufflers. One muffler for each side.

Those look almost exactly like the chambered sections on the GMMG exhaust. It will be interesting to see what it sounds like. The only place I can think that you could put one is right before the axle. I don't know if you could sqeeze two in there. It would kinda be like a loudmouth with a chambered section. Or you could do it like GMMG does but that would cost a bit more http://www.gmmginc.net/html/chamberedexhaust.html . It would be pretty loud with just one but cheaper. Good luck and let us know how it sounds.
