Clutch Engage

I'm not sure if I have never noticed before, or if it is new. It seems my clutch doesn't start to engage until it is let up about 80% of the way, and not fully engaged until 90%. Just to be clear, the 90% means the pedal is almost all the way up, not near the floor. There is hardly any pedal travel left when fully engaged. This is when taking off very gently. The clutch does not seem to be slipping at all.

Is this f-body norm, or should I be looking to get a new clutch? If I need a new clutch, any suggestions? Many thanks.

Usually I get manuals when a car needs its first repair. 18,000 miles, one year, and 8 autocrosses later, the car has not needed any work! (109,000 total miles, I got it used.) Any suggestions for good shop manuals for our cars? Maybe I'll be putting a clutch in soon.
