clutch diff for LT1 then LS1 vettes and camaro's?

I've been wondering this for a while..i have a 97 TA and my clutch is how its been from the muscle cars meaning you can drop the clutch w/ no problem..i recently drove my employees 02' SS and an 03' vette..both ive seen have some sort of pressurized clutch..it comes out real slow making it i think harder to rip from gear to gear..whats the reasoning behind this and is this what you get if you upgrade to a spec or other new clutches out?

I have heard of some of the LS1 guys drilling out a restrictor that GM put in the clutch fluid line. Supposed to make the pedal a lot more responsive. I do not know if the LT1s have this or not, but I have never had any problem with how my pedal feels.
