OR
Replace the opti for a vented opti, get a 95+ cover, cam, and the opti harness, couple hoses, etc. (which adds up too well over $500 just for the opti swap alone from gmpartsdirect.com not including the cam.)
And then you can finally get either the cloyes double roller or a LT4 timing set.
OR
Comp Cams makes a double roller timing set for the 1st generation LT1 timing set which will work with your stock opti.. I believe this will also work with the stock H20 pump. Only catch is that this timing set is over $500
So, pretty much anyway you put it if you want anything better than the stock timing set your gonna have to expect to spend over $500 on it is what it comes down to.

Re: cloyes double roller on 94
These are your only choices for a 94 motor.
The Cloyes - CLO-9-9100
Lunati - LUN-93094
or the factory replacement.
The Cloyes and Lunati will state that the parts are for 92-93 only. I called them directly and they both said that they are a direct fit for the 94 motor. The reason that they do not include the 94 year is that some late model 94's came with the 95 setup.
You would think that they would say that it would fit some early 94's. But they don't.

Re: cloyes double roller on 94
so if i get a 95 timing cover that is all i need it is a direct replacement?
and then i have to get a 95 opti that doesnt have a keyed pin out of the center of the cam it runs off the dowel in the cam that is off to the side?
is there any way to make that longer or replace it if i already cut it for my 94 opti?
