Clogged exhaust

Oh crap. I think my exhaust is clogged either in the cat or in the muffler. The car started getting quieter and quieter last night and started bogging down at low RPM. By the end of the night the damn thing could barely run. I've heard of clogged cats, is there a chance it could be a clogged muffler instead? ALso, I turned it on this morning and I could hear a loud tapping noise from under the valve cover. Could I have screwed up a lifter or valve from having to drive 20 miles home with that much back pressure??

I just took off the from my camaro. the engine is still runing like crap and sounding really muffled. The only wierd thing is that there is still alot of exhaust coming out of the cat. could the hesitation and lack of exhaust note be coming from another problem.

i guess you mean you took off the muffler? take the cat off and try it. sounds like a clogged cat to me. it has happen to me once. if it still runs bad with the cat off , time to start under the hood.
