CLO-C-3039 Timing Chain Set... Anyone else running one??

CLO-C-3039
Cloyes Heavy Duty Timing Set

I've got one in my new motor.. I did a search and didn't come up with anything on it..

I happen to find it at autozone first then found it on summit.. Just looking for alittle background if anyone has run one.. It looks just like the LT4 ED, but its a non-roller..

I fired the motor up last night, everything sounded great.. Soo far.. After reading about the ED water pump drive issues, i am alittle worried.. Due to there similarities.

No proven facts that the ED "water pump issues" were the fault of the ED cam gear.

As long as the oil holes are in the front plugs for the gear ya won't have a problem.
Cloys makes them for GM so it is probably the same.

Notice that is a stock LT1 timing set

That's a good timing set. It is the Cloyes aftermarket version of the stock GM timing set. The only bummer on using it is you won't have crank sprocket timing adjustment for exact cam phasing but that is the only bummer. I love the stock timing set up. Quiet and strong.

I am using that set, the machine shop used on offset key for the cam timing, dont have the motor in yet, but i agree, its just like the stock set, and should hold up well.
