Question climate control

I'm considering , actually i'm going to attempt this in my spare time. I'm going to make a temperature controlled system for our cars.

I don't consider this ALL that hard. I've had many classes in logic chips and microprocessor control. I'm hoping i can do it with just logic chips because then it would be cheap.

Since the vents are controlled by vacume i'd need some sort of servo to move the selector or simply doing away with the vacum system and going electric.

Has any one tried this?

if it can be done cheap and reliable would anyone want to know how to do it?
