clicking in steering column....

I'm in a posty kinda mood today so here goes....

This isn't a big problem (yet), but I'm curious. When I make a full steering wheel transition from left to right, right to left. I hear a small click in the column. This is only when forward motion is applied. When sitting still it doesn't do it. Any ideas

I'm having the exact same problem, that's why I brought up this old post. Can anybody take a shot at it? I've already replaced my rag joint with one from Unbalanced Engineering and there is stiil about an inch of play in the wheel and now the problem stated above is happening.

Well, I don't seem to have any play in the steering and it works perfect. I just simply want to know if it is something that is going to casue me major problems down the road.

It's funny that you brought this up. I was just thinking about this the other day

well i havent noticed any feeling or heard any sounds when i turn, but i did notice when i opened my hood that my knuckle was actually hitting my header.... theres a small spot where its already worn off the coating and started to rust. so if you have headers i would check and make sure its not the knuckle hitting the headers... just a thought...

that is a good idea, but there is a TSB bulletin out on this problem, I have read about it before but I do not remember what the solution was...
