Clicking after MAC header install....

I hear this clicking sound and it sounds like it is coming from either under the hood or right below the engine. I dont know if there is an exhaust leak because I just had everything welded into place. The guy that welded everthing said that there were no more leaks. This clicking sound was there even before he welded everything. Please help me find out what it is. It get louder the harder I push the car. Let me know. Thanks.

Did you hook your AIR up to the headers? if so i think you have to make a restrictor plate. look on brents site i think he has a how to on the subject.

maybe a leak at the header gasket?? mine was doing the same thing last year and when i took it all apart over the winter thats where it was leaking from. went "tick tick tick tick" as the revs rose. the header bolts were on tight but there mustve been dirt or something in the holes holding them out a bit. its fine now hth

I'm agreeing with slash at this point. I had a header leak on my IROC and it made a tick tick tick tick tick noise. That'd be my guess

I had a barely audible tick under acceleration, but on my setup the headers were leaking where they connected to the y-pipe.

One thought although I'm not suggested you do this if your not comfortable with it. You could use the seafoam technique to clean the top end of the engine, an added benefit is the resulting smoke will come out of any leak points in the exhaust system. Just have a friend looking while you do it to see if you can identify any possible leaks. (This is how I found out my collectors were leaking!!)

I cant hear the clicking sound when I just rev the engine. I only hear it when I am accelerating. Could it still be a leak?
