Cleaning Throttle body and Intake

Can I clean them with wd-40???

Use TB or carb cleaner.

so I can't use wd-40?? They wont sell me carb cleaner since im under 18

you've got to be joking! LOL! thats funny... find another store or have someone buy it for you. and no, wd-40 wont work.

You don't want "carb" cleaner.... it has solvents that can remove the coating applied to the TB blades to reducing carbon buildup on the blades. Use "throttle body" cleaner. That's what its made for. There's got to be someone who can get you a can of TB cleaner.

You don't want WD-40. It will leave an oily residue, and will not necessarily dissolve the buildup in the TB.

well I ended up cleaning it with started fluid .Thats all I could get my hands on. Valvoline starter fluid.
